A Conference on Literature as Performance, organized by the Society for the Promotion of Education and Learning and the CHS-Harvard, has been held at Book Archway in Athens between 5 and 7 July 2013 .
Dedicated to “Literature as Performance”, the conference has explored selected literary texts in the Greek language which were performed in a number of theatrical, liturgical or generally ritual contexts during the Greco-Roman, Byzantine, and Modern Greek periods.
The Society for the Promotion of Education and Learning announces its collaboration with the Center for Hellenic Studies of Harvard University. A memorandum of understanding agreement was signed by the President of the SPEL Professor George Babiniotis and the Professor of Classical Philology of Harvard University and Director of the Center for Hellenic Studies, Professor Gregory Nagy, on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Word and Art Auditorium of the Books’ Archway.
