Overall informationImage

Since 1840 Filekpaideftiki Etaireia introduced in the Schools the pre-primary education to demonstrate the importance of the children’s upbringing from the very early stages.

The achievement of the objectives concerning the pre-primary education, followed in the Arsakeia Schools, aims at those tender children who feel secure in the school environment with the guidance of experienced and qualified teachers so as to be gradually developed emotionally, intellectually and socially. So both the environment and the school curriculum in particular, are above all stressed. The independent buildings where the Pre-Primary Schools are accommodated meet the needs of the small children, close to nature with all the necessary for this age facilities such as playgrounds, construction-games, many teaching aids etc. The official school curriculum includes courses on Hellenic tradition, music, theatre etc everything that could help both the development of their skills and their social behaviour.

Moreover, their activities are extended with visits to museums, attendance of performances, participation in the national festivities and in various educational presentations.

Educational objectives

The proper and balanced development of the children’s personality from all sides, so as to contribute to their cognitive, emotional, mental and psychosocial development, is the main objective of the Pre-Primary School curriculum. The small children in conditions of freedom security and questioning, develop their self-awareness, autonomy, the feelings of security and experience the pleasure of learning. They also participate either in activities organized by their teachers or by themselves, which catch their interest and motivate their learning which is acquired through games, creativity, assessment of sources of information, discussion, exchange of views, presentation of new ideas, based on their previous background of knowledge and experiences.
